Interview with Sandrine Cerda, owner of l'Epicerie de Sandrine

The career of a motivated and passionate shop owner

For nearly 30 years, Sandrine has worked in several sectors: commerce, communication and the pharmaceutical industry. At the same time, her personal project was developing: to create a fast food shop linked to the grocery shop. During these years, she never stopped going to farmers' markets and meeting producers across France, with the aim of discovering their products and being able to reference them in her future business.

This project only came to fruition in December 2021, in Palaiseau in the Essonne region (91). Sandrine took a long time to get started, as opening her business requires a substantial financial investment. After a turning point in her professional life, it was time to take the plunge.

L'Épicerie de Sandrine has both savoury and sweet products. The delicatessen offers a local range of quality ingredients, with traditional recipes, without additives and preservatives, and above all, home-made products. Its main objective is to promote the work of small French producers

A well thought-out layout

L'Épicerie de Sandrine is a business creation. Previously a wine bar, the owner has retained only the kitchen area, which now allows her to prepare boards, plates and takeaways. The rest of the shop is dedicated to the sale of her products.

To imagine the layout of her shop, Sandrine was inspired by the designs available on the Tradis website to see how other shop owners have arranged theirs. Even before starting the configuration of her delicatessen, the owner had already set her sights on Tradis solid wood furniture, which she discovered during the Salon des Epicures in 2020. She then called on an interior decorator to assist her in her layout project. The decorator suggested a layout based on the plans and the desired Tradis furniture.

The owner of Sandrine's Grocery chose solid wood furniture because she wanted solid furniture that could withstand daily use. The quality criterion was also important to her, so that her delicatessen furniture would be as premium as the products that would be displayed there. The " Bois Vieilli " finish was chosen by the shopkeeper after ordering the sample pack available on the website.

A satisfying experience with Tradis

It was during our participation in the Salon des Epicures 2020 that Sandrine discovered our collection of furniture for professionals. She was satisfied with the quality of the furniture and that is why she chose Tradis to furnish her delicatessen.

While browsing our website, Sandrine went to the "Realizations" section. She was inspired by the photos of our customers' settings. This allowed her to imagine the layout of her business. In addition, thanks to the delivery times and available stock displayed on the product sheets of each piece of furniture she wanted, she was able to place two orders, first buying the items in stock and then the custom-made furniture that needed to be made in our workshop. By proceeding in this way, the owner was able to open her delicatessen on time

Finally, Sandrine is now very satisfied with her experience with Tradis. Her orders arrived on time. The furniture, delivered assembled, could be placed directly in the premises and set up in a short time. The quality was excellent thanks to the well-packed and protected furniture for transport.
