Interview with Nadine Rotat, owner of Atelier Rouge Raisin wineshop

The journey of a passionate wine merchant

After training in the restaurant business, Nadine Rotat began her career as a sommelier and then, 10 years later, joined the family business to manage the accounting department. Nostalgic for her favourite field, the wine merchant resumed her training in wine, went to meet winegrowers and the French vineyards, and took part in various trade shows.

Following this, she launched her wine cellar "l'Atelier Rouge Raisin" in August 2022 in Paray-le-monial (71) to honour the know-how of the partner winegrowers. She dedicates a space in her cellar to sharing convivial moments with her customers in order to advise them while letting them taste her wonderful nectars.

The wine cellar offers a wide selection of wines from the French vineyards as well as a range of spirits. A wine bar has also been set up so that customers can taste the wines on the spot in good spirits.

The design of the wine cellar

To create the layout and decoration of her wine cellar, the wine merchant started from scratch. The premises chosen for her project was an old hairdressing salon where the space had to be rethought and work had to be done to adapt it to the future business.

Nadine Rotat drew up the plans for her future business independently, according to her wishes and needs, in order to obtain a functional wine cellar that matched her image. She first took care of the decoration of her business by opting for a girly and cosy style: white tiles and pink and grey walls were chosen.

The furnishings were chosen in the colour Bois Vieilli to maintain harmony in the shop. The solid wood associated with this finish brought a warm atmosphere, favourable to sharing and exchange.

Initially, the wine shop had plywood furniture, which was not very solid and had no real soul. The need to invest in solid wood furniture for the wine shop soon became apparent. It became necessary to have furniture that could support the weight of the wine bottles. While searching for wine shop furniture on the internet, the owner of the Atelier Rouge Raisin discovered the TRADIS website and was seduced by the furniture for its aestheticism, practicality and robustness.

A satisfactory experience with TRADIS

Nadine Rotat has selected furniture from the wine merchant collection in order to acquire furniture specially designed for the world of wines and spirits. They are designed to display and store bottles of wine so that the customer can have the entire range within reach. The solid wood structure ensures solidity for these heavy products. The vertical display units allow certain offers to be highlighted, giving the possibility of promoting certain vineyards or organic wines for example.

The owner of the wine cellar particularly appreciated the fact that the furniture was delivered assembled. This was a real plus for her as it allowed her to devote all her time and energy to opening her business; it was crucial in her decision to buy.

The wine merchant is very satisfied with her experience with TRADIS. Her order arrived on time and in time for the opening of her business. The quality of the furniture was excellent, thanks to the fact that it was well-packaged and protected for transport.
